Here is Neil's promise to you. Each day as governor, he will work to:

Save and create GOOD JOBS
- Aggressively take full advantage of federal recovery dollars
- Partner with local small- and medium-sized businesses
- Support new green and high-tech industries side-by-side with traditional sectors

Invest in EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE
- Start with quality preschool for all
- Create higher expectations and more innovation in K-12 education
- Nurture a university system as a full partner in developing Hawaii’s economy

Construct a NEW INFRASTRUCTURE of
- Well-planned modern transportation systems
- Energy efficient buildings
- Housing that is affordable
- A smart and secure energy grid

Become ENERGY INDEPENDENT
- Develop homegrown wind, solar, ocean and other technologies
- Recapture billions of dollars spent on foreign oil every year to invest back into our own economy

Grow our own FOOD
- Resolve land and water issues that have been ignored for too long
- Promote locally grown food and products

Restore and be a good steward of our ENVIRONMENT
- Enhance its cultural and recreational value to our ohana
- Give visitors positive opportunities to experience and honor our precious water, land, species, and ocean

Invest in GOOD HEALTH
- Improve our public health infrastructure
- Make preventive care accessible to all so we avoid costly and painful treatments down the road
- Honor and meet the needs of our rapidly aging population

Sustain our DIVERSITY
- Investing in culture and the arts—the glue that binds us to each other and makes us who we are in Hawaii
- End discrimination in all forms and protect the civil and human rights of all

END POVERTY in Hawaii
- Target the primary causes of homelessness, suffering and abuse
- Re-engage people by offering a hand-up instead of a handout
